EAST MIDLANDS SKEET 2026
EAST MIDLANDS SKEET CHAMPIONSHIPS - NOTTINGHAM
What a day for the first East Midlands Regional Championship this season, the English Skeet.
Despite the weather throwing everything at us—biting winds, the occasional shower, and even a dusting of hail for good measure—the atmosphere remained fantastic. It was brilliant to see an increased entry compared to last year, proving that a little cold can't keep us down!
A massive thank you to everyone who braved the elements to compete. Here is how the leaderboard finished: The best of the best, separated by the narrowest of margins in tough conditions.
• 1st Overall (Regional Champion): Rob Denoon (98)
• 2nd Overall: Bob Tucker (96)
• 3rd Overall: Leon Gill (95)
THE VETERANS (Masters of the Gale)
Experience proved vital today as these three showed us exactly how to handle a shifting wind.
• 1st Veteran: Bob Tucker (96)
• 2nd Veteran: Neil Faulkner (94)
• 3rd Veteran: Doug Moore (91)
THE LADIES (Queens of the Clay)
Absolute composure in the face of the elements. These ladies put on a masterclass!
• 1st Lady: Isabel Russell (93)
• 2nd Lady: Hayley Denoon (83)
• 3rd Lady: Lizzie MacGreggor White (81)
Sadly for the first time in memory, we had no Junior shooters.
THE CLASS WARRIORS (Cash Prizes)
When the stakes were high, these shooters stepped up to the mark to take home the prize money:
• AA Class 1st: Rob Denoon (£35.00)
• A Class 1st: Meg Jones (£30.00)
• A Class 2nd: Jo Knapman (£20.00)
• B Class 1st: Paul Haworth (£40.00)
• C Class 1st (Tie): Gerry Stevenson & John Edwards (£20.00)
To everyone who braved the hail and the cold—you are what makes this sport great.
Huge congratulations to Rob Denoon and all our category winners! Now, go get somewhere warm—you’ve certainly earned it!
