EAST MIDLANDS DTL CHAMPIONSHIPS HELD AT PRIORY CTC

With so many people using AI these days, we thought why not, so let’s see what AI made of today’s events at Priory CTC.

The East Midlands CPSA DTL Championships returned to The Priory Clay Target Centre on Sunday 7th June, attracting a field of 46 competitors from across the region and beyond. Conditions produced some excellent scores, with the battle for the overall title going right to the wire.

Taking the East Midlands DTL Championship crown was Aaron Heading from Lincs, who delivered a superb score of 100/297 to secure the Regional Champions title.The runner up was Paul Neal from Suffolk on 99/294 and just behind him was Lee Willcoxson of Nottinghamshire on 98/291.

The Ladies category was headed by Suffolk’s Joanna Fairclough, who’s impressive 98/288 would have placed her among the leading scores overall. Second place went to Lincs shooter Liz MacGreggor-White with 89/256, while Hazel Morris from Cambs completed the top three on 83/236.

In the Veterans section, Tim Jones from Cambs emerged victorious with 97/288. He was closely followed by Lincs shooter Simon Owen on 98/287, with Giovanni Rosso from Cambs taking third place after posting 97/284.

The Junior title went to George Dilley from Lincolnshire, who shot 93/268 to become Junior Champion. There were no additional junior entrants, leaving the runner-up and third-place positions vacant.

The Championship produced a strong standard of shooting throughout the day, with Aaron Heading's winning performance leading a high-quality field and Joanna Fairclough’s excellent ladies’ winning score standing out among the day’s best results. With 46 entries and close competition across the categories, Priory once again proved a fitting venue for the East Midlands DTL Championships.
