The East Midlands Super Sporting Championship took place over the weekend of 27th & 28th June at Sporting Targets, where 86 competitors enjoyed a challenging course and excellent conditions for the region’s championship.
After three shooters finished tied on 94, Scott Shuckford (Bedfordshire) was crowned East Midlands Regional Champion after being available to contest the shoot-off. Jo Smith (Northamptonshire) and Harry Dickens (Cambridgeshire) shared the Runner-Up honours, having also finished on an outstanding 94.
The Ladies Championship was won by Becky Clifton (Bedfordshire) with a superb 82, ahead of Chelsea King (Bedfordshire) on 73, with Freya Simcock (Northamptonshire) taking third place on 67.
In the Veterans Championship, Glen Moore (Bedfordshire) claimed the title with an excellent 91, followed by Duane Morley (Norfolk) on 90, while Wayne Porter (Norfolk) secured third place with 83.
The future of the sport was also on display in the Junior Championship, where Benjamin Jordan (Cambridgeshire) took the title with 86, ahead of Jack Anderson (Norfolk) on 82, with Maximus Allen (Cambridgeshire) finishing third on 81.
The championship once again showcased the exceptional standard of shooting across the East Midlands, with Sporting Targets providing a superbly presented layout that challenged competitors of all abilities while remaining enjoyable throughout the weekend.
A huge thank you goes to the team at Sporting Targets, along with the referees, scorers and volunteers whose hard work ensured another successful East Midlands Championship.
