East Midlands Double Rise
EAST MIDLANDS DOUBLE RISE CHAMPIONSHIP
HELD AT EAST YORKSHIRE CLAY SHOOTING GROUND
ON SATURDAY 29TH OCTOBER
The last East Midlands championship of the season turned out to be a lot of fun. There are not many opportunities to shoot this discipline so no-one can claim to have this as their “specialist subject” so it is more a question of giving it a go and see what happens. The targets were superbly presented by the East Yorkshire team but 25 doubles shot straight through amounts to an awful lot of shooting so the squads were nicely spaced so that there was a bit of recovery time between layouts.
Competitors travelled from as far afield as Buckinghamshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire but as far as East Midlands competitors were concerned the main participants came from Lincolnshire so it was perhaps not a surprise that it was one of Lincolnshire’s finest DTL shooters, Marty Smith, with a score of 85 who ran out the winner by a fair margin.

Top veteran was John Winn, on 69. John was also celebrating his birthday (the number shall remain a secret but it is more than his score!!) and the ladies champion was Janet Stennett on 67.

Thanks as always to the team at East Yorkshire CSG for a very enjoyable shoot.
