NATIONAL INTERCOUNTIES DTL

HELD AT NORTHAMPTON SHOOTING GROUND

ON 8/9TH OCTOBER

Looking at the results from the National Intercounties DTL you would be forgiven for asking "what went wrong there, then".  It was a good question as some of the finest DTL shooters in the land were left scratching there heads when they were left looking at dust when it should have been a broken target.  No-one has quite come up with an answer but when you see experienced AA class shooters putting in scores in the 240's and 230's there is clearly something wrong and, for once, the weather was not to blame.

Lincolnshire fielded a very strong team in Stuart Whitehead, Mark Shaw, Andy Jackson, Nick Day, John Winn and Phil Porter and although the scores they submitted were, disappointingly for them, well below their usual standard, nevertheless, compared to some counties they acquitted themseves very well.

Our two ladies, who were both part of the Lincolnshire All Round team shooting at Eriswell Lodge on Sunday, 9th October were able to enter the DTL event very late in the day when the competition eventually opened up to include Saturday.  They too were very disappointed with their performance but, as they say, it is not over until it is over so were delighted to discover that they had done enough to win the ladies category.  Congratulations to Saira Boardman and Liz MacGreggor White.  Your medals will follow shortly.
