East Midlands ABT team results
ENGLISH OPEN ABT
HELD AT THE NATIONAL CLAY SHOOTING CENTRE, BISLEY
ON 24TH/25TH JUNE
It is always pleasant to shoot with the sun on your back and there was plenty of that this weekend as, weather wise, it proved to be the hottest weekend we have had so far this year. There were also some pretty hot scores appearing on the scoreboard early in the day with both Dave Sipling (Lincs) and Allen Warren (Notts), on the first squads of the day, starting with a 25 straight.
At the end of the weekend we had some good team news and some individual awards for our East Midlands shooters as the ladies team of Sue Bate (166/200), Jackie Houghton (159/200) and Janet Stennett (151/200) picked up the ladies team awards. The ladies team have a history of doing well at this event but unfortunately the ladies team trophy is now missing so all that history is now lost.

The veterans team of Allen Warren (Notts), Russ Hufton (Notts) and John Stephenson (Lincs) put in a very valiant effort with Russ scoring 186/200, Allen (182/200) and John (169/200) but they were beaten by just 4 clays by the South West team.
Individually Lincolnshire's Dave Sipling followed up his first day score of 96 with another 96. This score earned him a place in the shoot off for third place overall, which he narrowly lost to Cory Doble who scored a straight 25, and gave him the award for veterans high gun.

Thanks to the team from CPSA HQ who did a splendid job organising the presentation and thanks also to the NCSC team. The ground was beautifully presented and the organisation ran like clockwork. All in all a very enjoyable weekend.
