REVESBY COUNTRY FAIR - 4TH AUGUST
Country Fairs are a relaxing and fun day out for all the family so, providing the weather co-operates, they always bring together a huge amount of people. Over the past few years, Lincolnshire CPSA’s “clay line” has become part of the entertainment so much so that we get repeat visitors who comment on how much they enjoyed it last year and are back for more.
Over the day our experienced instructors guided people of all ages and all genders through the joys of breaking a clay. Everybody had fun, with many families and partners enjoying a bit of friendly rivalry.

For the serious shooter, there was a 25 target Sportrap and a 10 target DTL/single barrel. Some familiar names started to appear on the score sheets. Alongside well known sporting shooters, like Billy Cook and Paul Wilkinson, Carl Exton put in a 17, Dale Houghton missed the last 2 targets for a 20 and Tom Wykes’ 20 shows he is the current generation of a family who have a tradition of good shooting as members of his family have appeared on the Lincolnshire sporting trophy over the years – Des Wykes 1981 and Paul Wykes 1994.

The high gun prize of £150 for the Sportrap, sponsored by our local Isuzu main agents, Duckworth Motor Group, was keenly contested but, in the end, the front runners of Paul Wilkinson and Billy Cook, both on 24 could not be separated so shared the prize.

Sponsored by Grimme UK to the tune of £120 voucher to be spent in their country store, the DTL layout was a bit of a challenge. The only “straight” of the day went to Jody Mitchell, who, incidentally, also put in a very tidy Sportrap score of 17.
