Sportrap Championship 2018

7th April 2018 - Merseyside Sportrap County Championships at North Wales Shooting School

6 squads of shooters were greeted by a very wet and dull day just until the last two squads went out at 1pm, but this didn't put anyone off the excellent 50 bird shoot set by Brett Davies Shooting, with a good mixture of targets with no silly simmo pairs. Layout D&E were used, E being a large and wide open space allowing for some big loopers and long low incomers, D layout was a smaller more compact setting with a very fast B bird left to right that caught those out not fullying concentrating, the bird of the day had to the the midi teal that looked miles away but was actually only 20 yards away.

7 Merseyside shooters took part a new record for a Sportrap event, two of which were made up by new CPSA members Daniel McNulty & John Smith. John you had joined the day before so he could take part in the event.

Mick Shelton took the county honours and young James Southwood took Colt's

Many thanks to all the staff at NWSS and shooters that took part, it was a great day apart from the weather. A special mention to Brett Davies you had been on site since 6:30am that morning to set the targets up.
