NOTTINGHAMSHIRE Website : DTL County Championship 2019

Nottingham Gun Club was the venue for the County DTL Championship on Sunday 19th May 2019.

It was an unusually still day and the targets were definitely there to be shot. We had a good entry of 49 shooters battling it out.

Darren Watkinson was the head of the pack missing just one target and one barrel for a finishing score of 99/296. It was just one point ahead of 4 of his county team mates - Russ Hufton, Paul Meakin & Andy Brown all in AA class and Joe Booth in A Class. Russ took the AA Trophy by default as he was the only one of the trio still at the ground for the shoot off. Joe, who had not shot DTL for a year was happy to take A Class with his 100/295. Jim Murdoch made a late arrival to bag the B Class Trophy with 96/285 and Mick Reading took the final Class prize - C Class with 93/276.

In the ladies Carole Reading was the winner with 91/267 and in Colts Ollie Sampson shot an incredibly impressive 99/288 (even more impressive when you consider that it was with a new gun). In the Veterans it wasd a tie between Ash Parfrement (93/279) and Gordon Hodgkinson (95/279). Ash was incredibly strong in the shoot off finishing on 25/74 to Gordon's 24/71 and taking the title.

A special mention needs to go to Tony Clark who scored his first 100 straight.
