NOTTINGHAMSHIRE Website : English Skeet County Championship 2019

Nottingham Gun Club was the venue for the County English Skeet Championship on Sunday 2 June 2019.

It was a day of overcast skies with strong blustery winds and rain showers which got progressively heavier as the day wore on.  Despite these conditions the targets held up well for the entry of 48 shooters who battled it out for the various honours.

Darrell White and Neil Howard both shot so well through the afternoon rain to tie on 98 apiece which was the high score of the day.  Darrell went onto win the shoot off and take the overall High Gun trophy, whilst Nick took the ‘A’ class trophy.  Pete Armett took the ‘AA’ trophy with his score of 92. The contest for the ‘B’ Class trophy was an even closer affair with Roger Ball, Andy Brown and Robin Ellis all tying on a score of 94. Andy Brown took the trophy on count back as all three had left the ground by the time of the shoot off.

In the ladies Megan Gamble was the winner with a score of 89, whilst colt Matt Hall on 90 took the ‘C’ class honours. Matthew Armett shot a very impressive 93 to take the colt’s title.  In the Veterens, Ash Parfrement posted a strong score of 96 to take the Veteran’s trophy.

A big thank you to Carl and his team for putting on a well run competition in trying weather conditions.
