The Nottinghamshire Sportrap County Championship was held at Orston Shooting Ground on Sunday, 9th July 2017. It was a really warm and sunny day (some might say too hot!) and there was little to no wind to affect the targets.

The course was set over four layouts, shot straight through in order. There were some excellent targets presented, with the layouts seeming to get progressively more challenging through the sequence. There was definitely something for everyone at all ability levels, with enough challenge to allow the best shooters to shine through but still allow everyone to enjoy themselves.

In the final assessment, Pat Dickman shot an excellent 94 to take the Overall Championship. In the categories, A.A. Winter shot a score of 87 to take the Veterans trophy and Megan Gamble shot 74 to take the Ladies title. Unfortunately, no Juniors or Colts took part.

The class winners were Tom Gibson (AA) with a score of 92, Rob Denoon (A) on 88, S.J. Davis (B) on 90 and A. Swaine (C) on 93.

A total of 27 Nottinghamshire shooters took part in the competition.

Finally, many thanks to Dan, Emily at the team at Orston for hosting the event and making it an enjoyable day for all.
