Clubman Selection Shoots confirmed - If you would like to represent Staffordshire CPSA at this years Staffordshire Clubman Championships, held at Garlands on 14th September 2019.

Selection Shoots are as follows:-

Doveridge              19th May 2019
Kingsley Moor         9th June 2019
Kingsley Moor         14th July 2019

Any shoots held at Garlands between 14th April and 28th July 2019 will count as a selection shoot.

Criteria:-
You must be either "A" class, "B" class or "C" class at English sporting at the first selection shoot you complete.
You must shoot a minimum of 3 shoots from the above.
Your best 3 scores will count.

How your score will be worked out is that you will be awarded points away from high gun of the day.

E.g - High Gun 95, you shoot 85 you are awarded 10 points.
The 4 shooters from each class who have been awarded the lowest points, total, will be selected for the team.

Your class will be determined from your first selection shoot. So if you are "A" class on 18th May then "AA" by 9th June you will remain in "A" class.

We will also use these selection shoots to pick our second team for the West Midlands Sporting Inter Counties.

Please check fixture dates before travelling in case there are any changes.

Good Luck to all from Staffordshire CPSA

Come in a group and have some fun from 1pm, Presentations at 4pm

******************************************************************

First Gold medal in the bag for the season.

This years West Midlands  Inter Counties FITASC  was held at Garlands on Sunday 3rd March.

Great targets were set by Steve Lovatt ranging from 20 Yds/meters up to 80 yds/meters crosser's and battues, he gave something for every shooter.

I believe this is the very first time we fielded two teams, Wow!! Team "B" was Brent Woodard, Mark Colclough, Gary Tromans - New cap, Ed Harrison - New cap, Martin Butcher - New cap and Roger Grimshaw - New cap,  who I think all enjoyed their experience, well done all.

The "A" team of Chris Daniels, Steve Ward, Tim Simmons, Gavin Heath, Sam Ward and James Ward scored a massive 444/500 to take the gold medal by a staggering 17 clays. The score of the day goes to Chris Daniels with a  monsterous 98!! which was 7 clear of the chasing pack.
There was just 4 shooters to break the 90 over both days.
The last thing to say is a massive thanks to our Staffordshire Team Mangers Roger Grimshaw and Sam Ward - you sure do know how to pick a winning team.

Well done and thanks to all the team members -  Staffordshire is so proud.

Congratulations to Edward Ling for taking High Gun on 196. Thanks again to Edward Lyons of Flint & Partners Optometrists, Veronica Nugent Eley Hawk, Phil Gutteridge and Sarah Gutteridge all for your continued support! Always much appreciated. Leah Retains County Titles

I’ve just finished the Double Rise Staffordshire County Championships at Ranton CTC.

I’m extremely happy with my score of 63/100 as it’s only the 2nd time I’ve shot Double Rise and the 2nd time I’ve shot with my new gun. I managed to retain both my Lady and Junior County Champion titles which I am very pleased about. Thankfully, there was no wind and the sun was blazing all day which created perfect conditions to shoot in!

Ranton is a small but great ground with targets to challenge even the most experienced shooter. It was great to see so many shooters who I haven’t seen in ages, and it was good to catch up with them because I haven’t seen some of them in almost a year!

Congratulations to everyone from Staffordshire who won either money or became County Champions themselves (Veterans or overall Staffordshire High Gun). All being well, I hope to see you all again for the Single Barrel Staffordshire County Championships on July 1st and hopefully I can retain my Lady’s title and win the Junior County Champion for the first time!

**************************************************************************

Many Congratulations to Staffordshire's Leah Southall, who over the Bank Holiday weekend secured herself a well earned place in this years England Ladies DTL Shooting Team.

After two days of qualifying rounds, Lara finished in joint 1st for the Junior ladies title and joint 4th with two others to gain her place

in The Senior Ladies Final.
After a sudden death shoot off Lara won silver in Juniors, missing out for the top spot by 1 target and so went into the senior ladies final feeling disappointed in 6th position.

Despite this Lara shot extremely well in the final and fought hard to move up to 3rd position equalling Elena Allen's score but ultimately was eliminated on bib number to take bronze. Olympians Elena Allen took silver and Amber Hill Gold.

Another great result up against the Country's best and another two well deserved medals

Staffordshire's Junior Lara Dale continued on from her success winning The Ladies English Open Title last month to compete at The OSK UK Championships and England selection shoot this weekend at South Wales 2000.

Shooting 200 targets over the two days Lara performed really well in testing conditions shooting her PB, scoring 90/100 & 87/100 finishing 9th overall, Lady High Gun and so taking The Ladies UK Champion Title for 2018.

************************************************************

Staffordshire shotgun shooter Dominic Cooper recently won the English Open Olympic Skeet Junior title.

The event which was held at Doveridge Clay Sports ground at Uttoxeter, was a keenly contested event held over two days with a hundred clays being shot on each day.

Nineteen-year-old Dominic who attends Reaseheath College and works as a shooting instructor at Cloudside Shooting Ground has been shooting since the age of 11.

He has represented Great Britain in Europe during the last four years and most recently at the World Championships in Moscow, great shooting fantastic achievement, Staffordshire is very proud of you sir
