2024 All-Round Staffordshire Squads

We are one of seven counties that make up the West Midlands Region.  The other Counties being; Cheshire, Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Hereford & Worcestershire, Shropshire and Warwickshire.

Staffs CPSA Committee

Staffordshire CPSA is run and managed by a small but committed team of clay shooters for the benefit of YOU our fellow clay shooters. You can view details in the ‘Your Committee’ section of this website.

Our key aims and objectives are to:

- promote the sport of clay pigeon shooting within the County

- advise and assist on all matters relating to clay pigeon shooting within the County

- run various County championships for individual shooters across as many disciplines as possible

- select teams across as many categories as possible to compete in Inter County shoots across as many disciplines as possible

- introduce and welcome new shooters to our sport

Team Managers

Team Managers are selected from or co-opted onto the committee. Details are in the ‘Team Managers’ section of our website: https://sites.cpsa.co.uk/staffordshire/team-managers

Where possible, we will use selection shoots (either a one-off County Championship or a series of shoots) but we are always looking for expressions of interest to shoot in any of the disciplines.

We are particularly keen to hear from Junior and Ladies shooters who would like to shoot for Staffordshire.  Use the ‘Contact Us’ section or our Facebook page to get in touch.

Where to Shoot

We have two registered grounds in the County: Garlands (shoots organised by The Clay Shooting Company) and Ranton Clay Target Club.

There are a number of grounds throughout the region where you can shoot, including the likes of Doveridge, Fauxdegla, Mickley Hall and West Midlands Shooting Ground (Hodnet).

You can find details of all registered and affiliated grounds local to where you live on the CPSA website here.

County Championships

It is our intention to hold County Championship shoots in the vast majority of CPSA disciplines.  Check out the Fixtures section on this website for full details.

The most up-to-date details and regular updates can be found on our Facebook page.

Trophies & Badges

Trophies

It is the aim of the Committee to have trophies available in all disciplines and categories. Historically, there have been a number of disciplines with categories where no more then one or two people have competed and no trophy has been available. If there is no pre-existing trophy, a minimum of three entrants in Veterans, Ladies and Juniors are required for a new trophy to be purchased.

You can find more information about trophies, including details of previous winners in the trophy section of our website here: https://sites.cpsa.co.uk/staffordshire/trophies

Badges

There are four badges available:

County Champion – issued to the overall County champion for that year in each discipline you compete in and win.

Category-specific County – where contested, issued to the County Championship winners in each category: Senior, Veteran, Ladies and Junior.

Staffordshire County Team – issued to whoever represents Staffordshire at an Inter County team event. You only receive this badge once, not each time you shoot for the County.

Staffordshire Clubman Team – issued to whoever represents Staffordshire in the annual WM Area Clubman competition.

💥 Staffordshire County, Area and Inter-County Championship Dates 💥

The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association Staffordshire County championship fixtures, along with those for the WM Area and Inter County championships are updated here and on our Facebook page before the season starts in March.  One CPSA head office confirm the national fixtures, WM Area will confirm theirs, followed by the various Counties.

The document below lists the fixtures for County, West Midlands Area and Inter-County (team events) alphabetically by discipline.

Please note that all fixtures are subject to confirmation and that grounds may sometimes have to re-schedule. But we hope that the majority if not all will take place as currently listed. If any do need to be re-scheduled, we'll update you as soon as we know.

Our intention is always to field teams in all of the Inter-County events, across all categories (where applicable). Details of the selection criteria for each discipline appear in the relevant section on our website.

Good luck everyone and hope you all enjoy a great season!
