English Skeet Championships 2026
Following on from the successful Sportrap Championships last weekend, the English Skeet took place again at Eriswell Lodge on Sunday 5th April.
With a field littered with current and former England Team members the competition was expected to be fierce - as it is every year - with everyone pushing for the County Title and memorial trophies that accompanied them.
The weather was set to play its part sadly, with storm Dave doing the rounds it made for a rather wind affected day and for some rather unpleasant targets. The early squads set the bar in all categories bar Juniors, with Stuart Smith leading the field on 98, Melissa Smith leading Ladies on 95, and Bernie Polley leading Veterans on 93. Young George Woodham entered a superb PB equaling 72 later in the day in Juniors. Those scores all stood for the day despite a strong showing from everyone that followed, leaving the Mike Bradley Memorial Trophy & County Champion to Stuart, Melissa with the Alison Coupe Trophy and Ladies Champion, Bernie with Veteran Champion, and George with the Junior Champion.

This year we have explored sponsorship for our County Championships, something that will be explored further for next years events, and are pleased to say that Steve Young of Youngs Construction very kindly sponsored the English Skeet Championships this year. There will be more information shared surrounding how this will work shortly, but it will result in greater benefits to the County Championships and the Suffolk Entrants too. Team Manager Ben Woodham will be in touch with everyone to organise the East Midlands Inter-Counties team for the shoot taking place at Eriswell Lodge later in the year.
