CORNWALL Website : Ground Allocation

1) In approximately June each year full Committee will meet to decide how many selection shoots there will be per discipline. Committee Members with any links to particular Grounds will abstain from voting.

2) Letters will be sent to the Grounds suitable for specific disciplines inviting their response in writing attaching a copy of their Public Liability insurance cover by a specific date with the number and types of shoot requested – in all probability this will be dead-lined 30th September.

3) Grounds will be notified of their selection allocation in writing following a subsequent full Committee meeting in the 4thquarter of the year but the dates for said shoots will only be known once Major, Regional and National championships are in turn known (currently the regional calendar is not known until the first quarter of the following year!)

4) A take-turns policy will be used when Grounds qualify and ask for Championships where there are more than one Ground qualifying and we will share the Selection shoot events between the Grounds equally as far as practicable. The last of the Selection shoots per discipline should be held at a Registered Ground and where we have no such Ground within the County for a discipline we cannot use the term Championship nor can we promulgate this on the website, rather the Ground concerned can advertise it as a Final.

5) To qualify a Ground must:-

  1. Have been up and running safely to an acceptable standard in the eyes of the Committee for at least 12 months consecutively to the June meeting.
  2. In the view of the Committee have adequate merit, suitability and safety standards to hold such a shoot. This will be tabled/Minuted at a Committee Meeting.
  3. Comply with all Rules and Guidelines for CPSA held competitions and recording of scores.
  4. Provide proof of having the appropriate Public Liability insurance in place.
  5. Comply with any local criteria requests:- as an example in Skeet we may ask a Ground to be open for Competitors to practice at a reasonable time in the 8-10 day period before the selection shoot due to the changing nature of the backdrop there through the season."
