CORNWALL Website : Team Selection Criteria

  • Shooter must be a proven CPSA member at the time of the Shoot.
  • Shooter’s age at date of his/her first participating Selection Shoot determines his/her age Classification group in that discipline, in that year, regardless of any subsequent birthday.
  • The Senior Team consists of the highest qualifiers in each discipline, so for example a Junior, Lady or Vet scoring in the top 10 of Shooters in ESP automatically qualifies for the Senior ESP Team.
  • In the case of a Shooter qualifying for both their own Classification group Team and the Senior Team his/her score may count for both Teams despite only shooting once. That Shooter has the discretion to step down from either Team at any stage after qualifying to allow the next highest qualifier to shoot for a County Team.
  • To qualify for the Team a Shooter must shoot the requisite Selection shoots as detailed on the Cornwall CPSA website.
  • Selection is done on a points system as detailed elsewhere on the website in a fair and open manner.
  • In any discipline the Team as chosen in the qualification order detailed here remains in that order for that shooting season, so if we compete in Inter-Counties at Regional and National levels the qualification order will be followed.
  • When entering a team into the Inter-Counties the ground hosting will be asked if there is room to add additional classification groups. If these can be accommodated then consideration will be given to entering more than 1 classification group to enable more members to shoot for the county. For example a Vets B team, Ladies B team and Juniors B team
  • A Shooter will only get the Annual Cornwall cap badge if they actually shoot in the Team on the day and these are provided F.O.C. and are paid for by County Levies.
  • Cornwall Caps are for new ‘caps’ only (i.e. that have shot for the Team on the day) and these are provided F.O.C. and are paid for by County Levies.
  • Shirts are to be paid for by the individual Shooter, all Cornwall Team Shooters are expected to wear County colours.
  • A Team Manager will be appointed from the committee and will be responsible for organising the Team Members, booking in squads to Shoots and alerting the Committee once this is done.
  • In the event of a tie to a Selection series then the score from the Final shall decide, if the latter is tied then the countback system shall be used where possible specifically as decided by the Committee.
