Category Changes

In order to further standardise our sport – it has been decided by the CPSA board that we will align with other national governing bodies to change how we determine our shooting categories to be based on your age on the 1st of January each year.

As such from the 1st of January 2023 – our shooting categories will be as follows:

Colt: A Colt is under the age of 16 on the 1st January in the year of competition

Junior: A Junior is under the age of 21 on the 1st January in the year of competition

Veteran: A Veteran is 60 or over on the 1st January in the year of competition.

It has also been decided that at all CPSA Major competitions that the category of Super Veterans will be further introduced, and, in these cases - the Veteran shooting category age will drop to 55 or over and Super Veterans will be 65 or over.

Veteran: A Veteran is 55 or over on the 1st January in the year of competition

Super Veterans: A Super Veteran is 65 or over on the 1st January in the year of competition.
