KENT Website : Colt 2017

Kent Colt shooter of the year for 2017 is Tristan Hockey aged 13 Years (12 Through the 2017 Season).

This was Tristan's second season in competition shooting.

Tristan has now been competing for two seasons and has been shooting on and off since he was 10 years old, he is supported by Dartford Clay Shooting Club and is still trained by and with his Step Dad Scott Batcheldor.

2017 see Tristan shoot a Blaser 30" Flat Rib F3 a change to the previous season where he was shooting a higher rib Blaser F3 Vantage, both Scott and Tristan decided as the Trap Disciplines was going to take a back seat this season and Sporting, Fitasc, Compak was the main events to be shot for Tristan a flat rib was the way to go. Looking at Tristan's success this choice was correct. 

The season did not get off to the best of starts due to a late delivered custom stock four weeks into the season of which should have been here eight weeks prior to the season starting and once it did arrive within two weeks we knew it wasn't going to work how it was supposed too (mistake by the stockist) so a change to the stock arrangement and Tristan was then using one of his Step Dads stocks that was adapted to Tristan's measurements, so this put him back a fair bit but once settled in he hit the floor running.

In 2017 Tristan proved his young talent and improved ability from the previous season with some exceptional scores in championships, one to mention was his 90/100 In the Kent Allrounder finishing 4th overall the other was Kent Compak Champs where he hit a very solid 89/100 at Southdown Gun Club and won colts but was also the highest Junior shooting his last pair three times due to no birds but holding it together to kill them and win by one target, great nerves and composure for a twelve year old.

His main goal for 2017 season and also achievement  was to get into a final of a major and he achieved this in September 2017 when he made it to the final of the British Sporting Championship held at West Midland Shooting School where he competed with the very best of U.K. Colts. After his score in the open this was enough to reach the super finals. On the last day he was competing with the elite colts and some are 3 to 4 years his senior and he more than held his own in the finals and gained valuable experience.

Tristan won many Kent County Championships and was the overall Colt Shooter of the year for the 2017 season, not only did Tristan perform superbly in the County Champs but he also shot consistently well in local shoots South East Regions, Inter-counties and majors too.

2018 will see Tristan shooting a fully sponsored Salvinelli Exclusive 32" Flat Rib courtesy of Chris Potters Country Sports, he can not thank Chris and Dionne for the support they have give him in his short career and also for the support and backing of this sponsorship. Tristan can't wait to shoot the Salvinelli for the 2018 season and is super excited to be part of "Team Salvinelli" with Aaron Harvey, Ronnie Green, Dionne Rogers, Howard Batt.
