Jess Hambrook again in the news she shot in her first Olympic Skeet European Championship in Croatia finishing 11th on 108/125. This score surpassed the minimum qualifying score for the world championships congratulations Jess.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Massive well done to James Attwood on winning the World Compak Sporting Championship in Greece. Both he & Mark Winser shot an unbelievable score of 199/200 before taking the title with 24/25 to Mark's 22/25 in the shoot off to become World Champion hopefully the first of many to come.
Congratulations also to Tristan Hockey who at the same event came home with the Silver medal in the GB Junior Team World Compak Championship amazing shooting from 2 of Kent's finest.

South East Region Intercounties Sporting

The Regional Inter Counties English Sporting was hosted by Dartford Gun Club. Weather was good, the TV showing the Lionesses v Spain at the World Cup sadly not the best result. Thanks to the staff at Dartford and the Refs out on the stand for a great event and hospitality.

Although Jamie Brightman shot a 98 for overall High Gun, Nathan Skinner (Kent) 97 was Runner Up, but also the High Gun from all the nominated Team entries.

This event is all about the County nominated entries. Kent got selection right and scored 470/500, but very close only 2 behind was Oxfordshire.

Daniel King (Kent) was also top Junior. Aaron Christie (Bucks) was top Colt, Amy Easemen (also Bucks) top Lady. Ian Schwier (Essex) was top Veteran and Peter Humphreys (also Essex) Super Veteran.

Congratulations to all the winners.

The Levy from today and some personal prize moneys from Nathan Skinner, Pete Kemsley and Dylan Laing totalling £598 will be donated to Motor Neurone Disease Association. Thank You all for your contribution.

Kent’s Abt team at the inter counties held at Bisley 12th August.

Senior team finished in 2nd place - Tony Coulstock (93), Senol Tas (89), Tom Gridley (84), legendary Howard Batt on his electric flying machine (83) and Finlay Bowles (82).

Brad Abrey took 3rd place in juniors (81)

Finlay won the colts.

Thanks to the whole team for representing the county

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nathan Skinner was the county representative at the Game Fair Champion of Champions shoot, after shooting the highest score in qualifying he managed to take 3rd place in the final.
Well done Nathan

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A busy weekend of Olympic Trap at Bisley saw Mike Wensley take the veterans title on saturday at the South East of England OT,
Congratulations Mike.

On the Sunday it was time for the intercounties team event. Mike Wensley, Howard Batt, Senol Tas, Tom Gridley & Tristan Lambert made up the senior team with Dione Rogers as the lady & Brad Abrey as the junior, a bit of a mix match of shooters from various disciplines made up the team & it was nice to see some Helice shooters getting stuck into targets that fly much straighter & faster than they are used to! Thank you all for representing the county & well done all.

World ABT at Fauxdegla saw Finlay Bowles retain his Colts title for the 3rd year in a row shooting an impressive 181/200 shot over 2 day, Congratulations Finlay.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apologies to all Kent CPSA members, a write up was submitted to the Pull mag but not published this month.

This month’s submission below.

County Universal Trench Championships 7th May

Well done to Senol Tas and Faye Wills who won Kent Overall Champion and Kent Ladies Champion respectively at the UT county championships held at the National Clay Shooting Centre.

13th and 14th May

A fantastic weekend of achievements from Kent shooters saw Jessica Hambrook shoot an excellent PB of 109/125 to win Junior Women’s gold in Olympic Skeet at the second leg of the British Shooting Shotgun Series, whilst Nicky Waghorne took the title of South East of England Single Barrel DTL Overall Champion and John Malden won the Super Veteran title.

In the South East of England Inter-Counties Sportrap, Kent took team gold with 458/500, and individual titles were earned by Nathan Skinner and Dan King, who took Overall Champion and Junior Champion respectively.

Congratulations also go to Kent county shooters who secured their places on the GB Helice team this year.

Benelli SP’Auto 20th May

James Bradley-Day shot a spectacular 99/100 at the Benelli SP’Auto, held at Barbury Shooting Ground, to win silver.

County and South East of England Helice Championship 21st May

Some excellent shooting at Invicta saw several county and regional titles earned by Kent Helice shooters in advance of the European Championships. Following a tense shoot-off with fellow Kent shooter Tom Gridley, Glyn Barker emerged as county champion, county Senior champion, and South East of England Overall Champion.

After losing out on a GB team place in a shoot-off the previous week, Faye Wills collected some silverware as she claimed both the Kent county and South East of England Ladies titles. Bradley Abrey took the Junior county title, and Chris Potter secured the Masters county and South East of England titles.

English Open Sporting 21st May

Brilliant shooting from James Attwood who took silver at the English Open Sporting with a score of 113/120, whilst James Bradley-Day finished just one target behind to claim third in AAA.

27th and 28th May

Great shooting from John Malden at the DTL Grand Prix weekend at Fauxdegla where he finished second in A and took silver in Veterans.

The same weekend saw James Attwood shoot a perfect 100 straight at the English Open Skeet Doubles, and

Tristan Hockey claim bronze at the European Championships in Compact held at EJ Churchill. This achievement also sees Tristan qualify for the Compact team.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The week starting the 12th May saw Kent's 14 year old Olympic Skeet shooter Jessica Hambrook travel to Finland for her first international competition.

Jess had an amazing week qualifiying with her second MCS score of

107 / 125 and finished the finals in fourth place for junior girls.

She then went on to shoot with Wiltshire's Ben Cookson in the mixed pairs, they qualified in second place and brought home the silver medals in the finals.

Jess loved the experience of shooting abroad and is looking forward to her next adventure.
