KENT AGM MINUTES 2025

Meeting opened at 17.30 Saturday 22nd February 2025 at Dartford Gun Club

1. Apologies

2. Election of Committee Members 2025
Peter Kemsley (P.K) – Chairman
Kelly Hockey (K.H) – Secretary
Patrick Jones (P,J) – Treasurer
Jay Huxtable (J.H) – Member
Lee Fisher (L.F) – Member
Tony Coulstock (T.C) – Trap Rep

3. Approval of pre AGM meeting held 25th January 2025 & AGM held 2nd March 2024

4. Chairmans Report
J.H Spoke on behalf of P.K, D.R (Dionne Rogers) asked if the trophies will go home with the winners from the day of the county shoots to be engraved, this was advised by J.H & P.K that this had been tried before & we had lost a vast amount of trophies which came at a cost to Kent CPSA.

J.B (Jamie Brightman) asked would it be an idea to get winners to sign a form to keep the trophies, again this has been tried before & resulted in the loss of trophies.

5. Secretary’s Report
K.H expressed how well & helpful the Inter-Counties forms were for selecting teams in 2024 & we will continue to use these going forward into 2025.

Social media is a big part of Kent CPSA news, so we ask shooters to send in photos & reports to be added to our social media platforms & pull magazine.

All county dates will be shared across social media & our website.

6. Treasurer’s Report
P.J has just joined the committee & is proving to be a great asset to us, P.J delivered a fantastic report to the shooters & offered a superb breakdown of the accounts.

7. Discipline Representatives
J.H will continue to represent ESK, SKD & OSK.
L.F will represent ESP, CSP, SSP, STR & FITASC with help from P.K if needed.
T.C will represent the trap disciplines again as he does such a fantastic job.

8. 2025 Championships
After a heavy debate it was finally agreed that Dartford CSC will host the Kent SSP for 2025 & Willow Farm SG will host the Kent ESP & Kent STR if they can get the timings agreed on a Sunday to shoot until 4pm as the timings were a big issue for some shooters in 2024.

 
9. Kent Team Selection Shoots
We have decided to reintroduce the selection shoot process for the English Sporting & English Skeet teams for the South East Region Inter-Counties 2025.
There will be three selection shoots in each discipline.
Dartford will host two of the ESP selection shoots & one ESK
Willow Farm will host one ESP & one ESK selection shoot
Kingsferry will host one skeet shoot

J.B has kindly offered to donate another £200!

C.P (Chris Potter) offered to buy new county shields if he could find
 them cheaper than we have been quoted!

The winner of the Kent Sporting Championship will have first refusal of an invite to the CPSA Game Fair Champion of Champions shoot & we will do this across the Colt category too, if the winners are unable to attend we will move down the list of averages starting with the highest first.

J.H has joined the South East Region committee as the skeet rep & to represent Kent along with K.H

J.B & D.R suggested free entries for colts / juniors & it has been suggested that the individuals apply to the committee & we could issue an entry to a major shoot & possibly supply them with some cartridges. This still needs to be discussed by the committee.

S.W (Steve Williams) Chairman for the SER committee was super impressed with the attendance we had at our AGM which was in excess off 50 people!

The County Championship Levi will be increased to £3 per shooter (no matter what county they are from) & for the selection shoots the Levi will be £2 per shooter.
