HAMPSHIRE Website : Inter-County Team Selection Procedure

THE PROCEDURE

The Team Captain is the Hampshire Champion of that discipline,
The team will then be made up of the top seven shooters taken from the averages and a further two or four subject to discipline will be selected by the team manager. As stated below from 2017 some disciplines are now only 5/6 man team events, for this, the Hants Champion remains as the captain and then the next 4/5 positions based on averages. If we have enough members interested in a second team then we roll over onto averages/team manager picks as before but this creates a second team.

The County Championships have now been brought forward to earlier in the year, this allows the new averages to be used for the Inter-County teams and also gives shooters a break between County Championships and Inter-County Championships.

Home disciplines, English Sporting, English Skeet, DTL, and ABT will be judged on an average of 300 targets minimum.
The inter-county disciplines of Fitasc, Sportrap, Single Barrel, Universal Trench, Olympic Trap, All-round, and Olympic Skeet will be judged on a minimum average of 100 targets.

If any of the seven selected shooters from the averages cannot participate, then the manager will continue down the rankings to find replacements at their discretion. In the event of a tie on the averages for the 7th position then the manager picks positions that would be forfeited to accommodate the tied shooters.

In the Ladies, Veterans & Junior categories the highest-ranking competitor in the averages will automatically make the team alongside the County Champion. If either can't make the Inter-County event then the replacement will be decided by the team manager along with the third position if applicable.

Please note that if you have made a team or would like to be considered we must have your details to make contact with you. Please use the contact us page on this website to get your details to us and state which disciplines you would like to be considered for. We would hate for you to miss out on a place in one of the teams due to not being able to contact you. The teams are generally finalised 2 weeks prior to the Inter-County event.

SOUTH WEST REGIONAL INTER COUNTY TEAM FORMAT
TRAP DISCIPLINES (DTL, ABT, SB, OT, UT, AR)
There will be named Senior squads of 5/6 (discipline dependent) entered prior to the commencement of the shoot. There are no limits as to how many teams your county wishes to enter in any category. These teams will be known as (County) 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on ie Hampshire 1st, Hampshire 2nd etc. Ladies, Veteran and Junior individual scores can be included in the (County) team if names are nominated before shooting commences. All scores to count (5/6 per team). LVJ teams will consist of up to 3 members and 2 of the 3 scores to count. If a L V or J score is used for the (County) team that individual's score will also still count towards their category team results.

ALL OTHER DISCIPLINES (ESP, FITASC, STR, ESK, OSK)
The team format for these disciplines will be 10/12 member teams with the best 5/6 scores to count. Ladies, Veteran and Junior scores can be used for the Senior team if nominated before shooting commences. As with the Trap Disciplines, the L V & J individual scores used for the Senior team will still count towards their category team results and 2 of the 3 scores will calculate the team result.

The changes decided upon above will apply as of 1st January 2016.
