AARON HEADING - DOUBLE RISE CHAMPION 2025

Double Rise is a very testing discipline but it is also super fun and with opportunities to shoot it being few and far between everyone goes in a bit cold.  Speaking of cold, in recent years this event has often had to be re-scheduled as the winds straight off the wash have blown everything away from people to traps so to shoot it in the middle of a rarely experienced heatwave in May is also something of a novelty.

Also in an effort to make it a bigger and better competition the Lincolnshire committee agreed to twin this event with the East Midlands regional championship.  This brought in competitors from Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire as well as the counties closer to hand so the entry of 18 is an improvement on previous years.

From Lincolnshire 8 souls gave it a go.  With our Olympian, Aaron Heading, taking to the ranges competition was going to be tough.  Aaron racked up an impressive score of 58/60 to give him not only the Lincolnshire title but the East Midlands title also.   Although Aaron was in a league of his own, nevertheless, there were some very creditable scores, particularly from Nick Day and Ian Warsap.
