LINCOLNSHIRE SUPREME CHAMPIONS 2024

It was a cliff hanger to the very end and the expression it is not over until its over is very apt for this year's battle for the Supreme Champion titles.  Marvin Houghton extended his lead for the Overall title by a good solid performance in DTL but was so nearly overtaken by a late flurry from Tony Woodrow who finished just one point back.  Keeping it in the family saw Dale Houghton romp home for the Senior title.  Jackie Houghton so nearly made it a family hat trick but just could not catch last year's champion, Georgina Barratt, who retains her title.  With Marvin Houghton out of the picture the Veterans title looked like it would be a 2 horse race between John Winn and Richard Gray but from nowhere came John Toombs who scored just 1 point in the sporting but then scored well at the All Round and again at DTL to take the title because he accumulated his points over the fewest number of disciplines.  Sadly each of the participating juniors only shot their preferred discipline so no-one met the qualification criteria of shooting a minimum of 2 of the qualifying championships.
